Week One

Accomplishments: This week I worked on making my headstock shape. I was able to cut out the shape and sand it down so there weren’t any rough edges.

Tools: To complete the headstock I had to first use the bandsaw to cut off the tabs that were made originally. Then I had to carve out my design leaving relief cuts since I couldn’t just cut it. I then sanded it down using a spindle sander to get the desired shape.

New learning: I learned that the bandsaw blade was a little old so it caused it to be tougher. I also learned that it was easier than I thought it would be. I was able to figure out how to sand and do that on my own which made me feel more comfortable with the process.
